Anyone ever wonder why people in Washington usually forego the umbrella and just walk around in the rain all the time. Well, I’ll tell you why. It’s because umbrellas have become more of a nuisance than just getting wet. The strong winds just rip it to shreds and we end 
up looking like we are practicing our Kung Fu skills against an invisible enemy and getting wet anyways. I have been on the hunt for a good umbrella for quite some time. One that I don’t have to hold a certain way so the wind doesn’t get up under it and rip it out of my hands. I wouldn’t be surprised if umbrellas were the number one cause of injury out here.
Well folks, I finally found it. The holy grail of umbrellas. The Blunt Umbrella. This bad boy uses a radial tensioning system. It transfers and distributes the effort used in opening the umbrella throughout the entire canopy. Resulting in a strong, aerodynamic umbrella with no sharp points. Not only that, they are pretty darn cute.
I have the Blunt XL and the Blunt Lite. I keep both of them in my car. I figure where ever I may be, so should my umbrellas. I use the Blunt Lite almost daily for going into work. When I am out with my significant other we share the Blunt XL and it’s big enough to keep us both dry.

I’ve lived in Washington for over 20 years. The reason I don’t use an umbrella is because it’s so darned inconvenient to open and close them all the time and they drip all the time. Just throw on a coat and go is what I say. You’re right about flimsy umbrellas, but there is no way in heck I would pay that much for an umbrella.

I initially had the same thought, but then realized that over the years I have spent way MORE than that on having to purchase MANY umbrellas over the years due to them breaking constantly.
I have a niece who could really use a good sturdy light weight umbrella. I might just have to get her one
I really need a new umbrella and this one looks great. I love that there are no wires that can poke out.
Maybe it is because it has rounded edges, but there is something about this umbrella that makes it look more sleek and classy than most other umbrellas.
While I personally would not spend $50 on an Umbrella, simply because I do not purchase umbrellas, I do see how this umbrella could save someone who does buy umbrellas a LOT of money!
